Monnit Introduces Advanced Water Detection Sensors

Monnit Introduces New Water Detection Sensors Monnit is pleased to release two new advanced water detection sensors designed to alert businesses and property owners of water intrusion and potential property damage that results from flooding or leaks.

The Monnit Wireless Water Rope Sensor detects conductive liquids anywhere along the length of the detection rope by using two wires covered with conductive polymer. When water or any other conductive liquid contacts the rope, the sensor will immediately turn on the RF radio and transmit the data to the wireless gateway and iMonnit Online Sensor Monitoring and Notification System, allowing the user to immediately receive an alert by SMS text, email or voice call. The sensor rope dries quickly allowing the sensor to reset for its next use. The wireless water rope sensor comes with 10 feet of detection rope and can be expanded up to 100 feet by simply clicking additional 10 foot sections of water detection rope together.

The Monnit Wireless Water Detect Plus Sensor uses a spot detection probe to detect the immediate presence or non-presence of water or other conductive liquids. The spot detection probe can be positioned and mounted a set distance above the ground eliminating false alarms.

Features of Monnit Wireless Water Detection Sensors:
    • Ultra-low power and small size
    • FCC, IC and CE certified
    • Available in global wireless frequencies (900, 868 and 433 MHz)
    • Free and premium online monitoring with alerts via SMS text,
      email or voice call

Crystal Ball

Let's Take a Look in Our Crystal Ball to See What the Future Holds at Monnit

Monnit's development team is hard at work improving our products and services. Working with our customers, we were able to identify the need for Class 1 Div 2 certified wireless sensors. Class 1 Div 2 certification refers to a hazardous location; defined as a place where concentrations of flammable gases, vapors, or dusts occur, but are only present under abnormal conditions (most often found as leaks under abnormal conditions). This provides flexibility and reliability when using Monnit wireless sensors for outdoors and/or industrial applications. Look for Monnit Class 1 Div 2 products in the near future. If you would like to learn more about the new products or be notified when they are available, please email us at sales@monnit.com.

Application of the Month

Frozen Pipes

Using Wireless Sensors to Monitor Boiler Efficiency.

Boilers must maintain a certain temperature level for safe, reliable, and efficient operation. Overheating boilers may lead to damage and broken boilers decrease efficient output causing operational issues.

Boiler efficiency monitoring can help improve the performance and lifespan of your boilers. Monnit's wireless monitoring solution provides information about the performance, condition and operating efficiency of your boilers by using wireless sensors to monitor and track various aspects of boiler operation. This not only helps save operational costs such as fuel, but also provides alerts for proactive response to issues before they cause unpredicted shutdowns.

In environments that demand effective and undisturbed operation, your boilers need to maintain their best possible performance. We recommend using Monnit's affordable wireless temperature sensors to monitor and track boiler input and output temperatures. Wireless water detection sensors can help detect leaks in boilers and plumbing so you can know immediately if there is a broken pipe. Wireless pressure sensors can track output line pressure to ensure that no damage occurs to the boiler system in the event of overheating. There are no wires to worry about, and the setup process is amazingly simple.

Temperature Sensors Monitor input and output temperatures of boilers.
Water Detection Sensors Detect the immediate presence of water leaks.
Pressure Sensors Monitor and track output pressure of boilers.

Ensure your boilers are running efficiently with Monnit wireless monitoring solutions.

Setting Up and Using iMonnit's New
Voice Call Alerts

Recently Monnit made voice call notifications available in both free and Premiere iMonnit accounts. If you would like to add voice call notifications to your account, there are a few simple steps to get them working.

Purchasing Notification Credits

In order to use voice call alerts you will need to purchase "notification credits" for your account. Credits can be purchased directly from your iMonnit account by going to "My Account" and clicking on "Purchase Notification Credits". Alternately, credits can be purchased from the Monnit website under the products accessories page. If purchased from the Monnit website, you will receive a redemption code to enter into iMonnit to activate the purchased notification credits.
