A slapshot for facility managers
Sealed in a hockey puck made of nearly indestructible vulcanized rubber, the ALTA® Wireless Water Detection Puck Sensor is a novel way to monitor water presence or absence in a wide variety of facilities and locations.
With the perfect union of form and function, you can use the fully submersible, waterproof sensing device to face off against potential water damage by detecting leaks, flooding, and pooling. Or quickly sense the absence of water or other liquids in troughs, tanks, and containers. Place the versatile Water Detection Puck Sensor in virtually any facility area, including restrooms, kitchens, server rooms, boiler rooms, production lines, or under aging machines and systems.
The Puck Sensor is available in two colors—black or white. Generally, the traditional black puck design can be placed in virtually any location—industrial or commercial—to work behind the scenes gathering critical data. The white design offers the flexibility to use the sensor in facilities like hospitals, labs, and clinics where sensing devices and other equipment blend in with the décor.
The Puck Sensor’s inventive approach to supporting facility maintenance won a 2020 Vision Award for FM Building Services and Tools. Judges praised the sensor’s cost savings, efficiency, technological advancements, and contribution to tenant satisfaction.
The sensor deploys in less than 15 minutes–drop it under problematic plumbing, leaky windows, or tanks and turn it on via a magnetic contact switch. Once water or liquid rises approximately 1.6 millimeters under the probe, the sensor’s probes detect the water’s presence. This triggers an alert that’s sent via text, email, or call. Similarly, you can configure the sensor’s settings to detect the absence of water or liquid and immediately alert you.
Monnit’s Water Detection Puck Sensor is an incredibly simple way to strengthen your defenses against water damage. Read more about this drop-in water sensor below.

Life-sustaining, yet wholly destructive, water damages, sickens, and injures.
This is why businesses use Monnit’s Water Detect Sensors—if a leak occurs, an alert is issued via text, email, or call. Early detection helps prevent mold growth, slip and falls, or extensive damage to mission-critical systems.
Data centers, factories, mixed-use retail centers—no two are alike. This is why Monnit offers a broad range of water detect sensors and custom monitoring solutions. Explore all water monitoring solutions below.
In 15 minutes, setup a Monnit Water Detection Sensor to detect hazards.
Leak monitoring also helps economize operations. Did you know that leaky pipes lose six billion gallons of clean water daily in the U.S. alone?
Now you do, and now you know how to guard occupants, assets, and the bottom line.

A core Monnit product, this family of ALTA® Water Detection Sensors has introduced businesses to the advantages of remote monitoring: instant leak detection shields income, assets, and personnel. The moment a sensor detects water, an alert is sent via text, email, or call to you (or designated contact).
The sensors can also be configured to detect both the presence and non-presence of water—helpful for sanitation or building remediation.
When a Wireless Water Detection Sensor’s lead contacts water, an internal circuit is completed. This triggers the sensor’s integrated RF radio to push water status data to iMonnit software, which instantly alerts the appropriate party.
There's a remote monitoring solution for virtually any facility from the mini (yet mighty) coin cell senor to the rugged industrial sensor. Universities, cancer research institutes, data centers, restaurants, and retail operations all count on Monnit to help ensure business continuity.

It starts with a pinpoint leak Thursday night. It ends with soggy servers Sunday morning.
Data loss, irreparable damage, lost revenue—all could have been avoided through the early detection of an ALTA® Wireless Water Rope Sensor.
Available in Power over Ethernet, commercial, enterprise, and industrial-grade sensor types, you can deploy these devices in the restrooms above your server room, below leak-prone boilers, or in attics. They are also ideal high-traffic walkways where standing water threatens safety.
When liquid contacts a sensor’s conductive polymer rope, the sensor instantly activates its onboard RF radio and transmits water presence data to the iMonnit Sensor Configuration and Management software. This facilitates a near-instantaneous text, call, or email alert.

Instant alerts from Monnit’s ALTA® Water Detect Plus Sensors help defend against weather, faulty plumbing, and equipment failure. In addition to detection, the sensors monitor for water’s absence—helpful for sanitation and remediation.
Water Detect Plus devices are available as a Power over Ethernet sensor, as well as wireless commercial, enterprise, and industrial sensors.
Every Detect Plus sensor has a probe-capped 3’ lead. Upon water contact, the probe’s electrical circuit closes to trigger an alert. The Detect Plus probe helps minimize false alarms when mounted to compensate for expected variables, e.g., condensation.
Optional 10’, 25’, 50’, and 100’ lead lengths expand usage.
Meet the diverse Water Detect Plus Sensor family below, and bring the plus side of early detection to your business.

If you building or facility doesn't have existing Power over Ethernet (PoE) infrastructure, you will need this PoE Power Adapter.
PoE•X Sensors plug into a building’s PoE infrastructure and remotely monitor critical systems and/or infrastructure for hazards, such as water leaks. This data provides smart building operators with tremendous data to economize operation by conserving resources while enhancing comfort. If a monitored variable exceeds specified thresholds, a user is alerted via text, email, or call.
Monnit offers a variety of PoE•X sensors to fulfil your facilities needs:
Work the soil with an ear to the ground.
It’s easy to know your soil’s water and temperature condition with the ALTA® by Monnit Soil Moisture Sensor. It provides a highly effective way to improve irrigation scheduling and efficiency. You’ll know when and where to water your crops, plants, or landscape from the data you gather.
The Soil Moisture Sensor measures soil water tension (matric potential) and temperature. With a resistive granular matrix element, you can optimize your tension parameters to determine the earliest indication of water stress and make sure you irrigate before it reaches that point. The unique element feature delivers consistent calibration without needing to recalibrate for every installation.
The Sensor also has a thermistor-based temperature element. Its readings will help you assess temperature -40°C to 125°C (-40°F to 257°F) and the moisture’s temperature compensation, eliminating the need to measure moisture every time the soil temperature changes.

If you have a Monnit Ethernet Gateway that doesn’t support Power over Ethernet (PoE), the PoE Splitter allows you to use an existing PoE line to power and communicate with the gateway. The PoE Splitter works by simply separating the power from the data and feeding it to a different input that a non-PoE-enabled device like a gateway can use.
If your building or facility doesn’t have PoE infrastructure, you need this PoE Power Adapter to run your Monnit PoE•X Sensors. It’s easy to inject power into an Ethernet cable with our PoE Power Adapter. Deploy and power up PoE•X Sensors near or on virtually any asset that you need to give you data through a single PoE cable.
Learn more about these two PoE accessories below.
