How to Look Up a MAC Address for a MoWi Sensor or Ethernet Gateway
This article will guide you in looking up a MAC Address (and other useful information) for devices which have MAC Addresses (like MoWi Sensors and Ethernet Gateways).
What is a MAC address?
A MAC address (Media Access Control address) is a unique identifier assigned to a network interface controller (NIC) for on a network. A MAC Address is often referred to as a hardware address. MAC addresses take the form of alphanumeric numbers in hexadecimal format arranged in groups of 2 (usually) separated by a colon. For example, 00:1E:0c:2C:22:AC would be considered a valid MAC address. MoWi sensors and Ethernet gateways have MAC addresses since they operate on an Ethernet network. This address is sometimes needed when configuring authorization for the device to operate on your Ethernet network.
