If Your H2S Gas Detection Sensor Reads "Hardware Error!"

If your H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide Gas) sensor reads “Hardware Error!”

The H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide Gas) sensor has an initialization period of 24 hours. During this period, the sensor must be operating, and may provide readings that indicate “Hardware Error!”. This is expected behavior during this initialization period.

Initialization period

The H2S sensor is somewhat unique in that it requires an extended initialization period. This is especially applicable if the initialization process is interrupted. During this time, it is normal behavior to see the reading “Hardware Error!” reported by the sensor. If you see this error, allow the sensor to continue checking in on its heartbeat for 24 hours. This will allow the sensor to initialize and start reporting normally.

If you find that the error persists, please contact Monnit Support for additional guidance.
