New Wireless Duct Temperature Sensors

Monnit Wireless Duct Temperature Sensors

We are pleased to release new wireless duct temperature sensors. Monnit wireless duct temperature sensors use an NTC type thermistor with 8 ft. UL listed plenum cable to accurately measure temperatures in duct work, while maintaining a sealed environment. The sensor will measure temperature in the duct work and send data to the iMonnit Online Sensor Monitoring and Notification System. The data is stored in the online system and can be reviewed and exported as a data sheet or graph. User customization allows you to set notifications and alerts from the system so you can know immediately if temperatures are above or below an optimal range. The sensor probe features mounting flanges and can be easily installed for long term use.

Wireless Duct Temperature Sensor Features:

    • Accurate to ± 1° C (± 1.8°F).
    • Increased accuracy by user calibration to ± 0.25° C (± 0.45° F).
    • Probe temperature range of -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to +302°F).
    • 8 ft. UL listed plenum cable.
    • Mounting flanges for easy securement
    • FCC and IC certified

Crystal Ball

Let's take a look in our crystal ball to see what the future holds at Monnit?

Monnit's development team is always hard at work developing new wireless sensing products and enhancing our existing products based on customer feedback. We are currently working on power options for the new flanged AA battery powered wireless sensors. The new power options will consist of AC line power instead of batteries, two 3.0 volt AA type batteries instead of standard 1.5 volt (allowing you to double the battery life) and an on/off switch option. If you would like to learn more or be notified when these options become available, please email us at sales@monnit.com.

Application of the Month

Preventative Maintenance and Monitoring

Monitoring Equipment for Preventive Maintenance.

Are you monitoring your machinery for predictive maintenance? Do you know how often your machinery is running and if it is running within its correct specifications? Deviations from specified parameters in vibration or temperature, if left un-checked, can cause expensive repairs and downtime.

Using Monnit Wireless Sensors for conditional monitoring allows maintenance to be scheduled, or other actions to be taken to avoid the consequences of failure, before the failure occurs. Monnit wireless sensor systems can help you monitor equipment to help you detect issues before they become serious and costly. We recommend using Monnit's affordable wireless activity timer sensors to track and monitor the operation of machinery or vehicles. We also recommend using Monnit's wireless temperature sensors to monitor operating and room temperatures.

Wireless monitoring solutions that allow you to track and receive alerts for the following types of applications:

Wireless Activity Sensors Track and monitor the operation of machinery or vehicles.
Wireless Temperature Sensors Monitor equipment operating temperatures.
Wireless Voltage Meters Monitor voltage to equipment and machinery.

All Monnit wireless sensors come with free basic online monitoring, allowing you to view sensor information anytime from anywhere. Receive instant notifications via email or SMS text if a set sensor condition is met or exceeded.

Tech Tip of the Month

by The WiSe Guys

Setting Up A Monnit Wireless Sensor Network

This tech-tip is meant to give an understanding of how to setup your Monnit Wireless Sensor Network. Follow these instructions in the order they are presented for quick and error free setup. For additional help, you can view documentation and knowledgebase articles on our website at www.monnit.com/support.

To start, you will need to create an account through the iMonnit online portal at www.imonnit.com.

(Note: Do Not Plugin Your Wireless Gateway or Insert Batteries Into Sensors Until You Follow Complete This Process.)

    • From the sites main page, click the "Get Started Here" button on the left side of the page to create
      your account.

Create iMonnit Account

    • Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your account and contact information.

    • You will be prompted to create your first sensor network. Simply enter a name for your network.

    • Next you will be prompted to add a wireless gateway and wireless sensors to your network.

    • Enter the information from your MonnitLink™ gateway then click the "Assign Gateway" button.

Add Wireless Gateways

    • Enter the information from your first wireless sensor then click the "Assign Sensor" button.

Add Wireless Sensors

    • On the next screen, enter a name for the wireless sensor and use the drop down to tell us how
you are going to be using the wireless sensor. (This allows us to suggest settings for your
sensor.) When finished, click the "Continue" button.

    • Repeat these steps to add any additional wireless sensors to your network.

When you have finished setting up your iMonnit account, setup your wireless gateway.
    • For USB gateways you will need to download and install the MonnitLink USB Gateway Driver and
      Monnit Gateway Application.

    • For Ethernet gateways use an Ethernet data cable to connect the gateway to your Internet router.
Then connect the AC power adapter to power on the device.

    • For Cellular gateways, make sure the gateway has been activated on a cellular data plan if it was
not purchased through Monnit with a Monnit data plan. Then connect the AC power adapter to
      power on the device.

Once the wireless gateway has been setup and is active, insert batteries into your wireless gateways to begin using them.

(Note: Make sure that the wireless sensors are at least 3 feet away from the wireless gateway to ensure RF connectivity.)
