Monnit Sensor Unlock makes it easy to send sensor data away from iMonnit Premiere to the app or platform that best fits your operation.
Monnit Sensor Unlock gives you the flexibility to connect select sensors, such as PoE•X, Next Wi-Fi, and future non-ALTA Sensors, to your local platforms or beyond our cloud environment. Whether you’re using iMonnit Enterprise, iMonnit Express, Monnit MINE, or your own custom application, unlocking allows you to redirect sensor communication to the host of your choice.
The concept is simple: Monnit Sensors feature a built-in function that typically communicates with iMonnit Premiere. With an unlock code applied, that function can instead point to another system, opening the door to local or deeper data integrations and customized deployments.
Getting started is straightforward. Purchase an unlock code, apply it within the iMonnit Credits dashboards, select the eligible sensors you want to unlock, and the system handles the rest. From there, your sensors are ready to communicate with your preferred platform.

How to Use an Authenticator App for iMonnit 2FA
Last month, we introduced mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA) for all iMonnit users because passwords alone aren’t enough to protect against today’s credential-based attacks. Now, here’s a quick way to make 2FA even more secure and convenient: use an authenticator app.
Instead of waiting for a code via email or SMS, authenticator apps like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator generate a fast, rotating 6-digit code directly on your smartphone, even without a network connection. It’s a simple upgrade that strengthens account security while streamlining login.
Setup is quick. In your iMonnit user profile, navigate to 2FA settings, select the Authenticator App option, and generate a unique QR code. Scan it with your preferred app, enter the verification code, and you’re done.
Once enabled, you’ll still only need to complete 2FA once every 90 days per device.
