Rise to a New Generation of Food Monitoring

new food probe

Get ready for a smarter way to monitor food safety and quality. We’re designing the new ALTA® Wireless Food Probe 2.0 to simplify temperature tracking, automate logging, and give kitchens more control over cooking and compliance workflows. Before launch, we’re preparing for beta testing and inviting select customers to help shape the final product.

Our ALTA Food Probe 2.0 combines real-time visibility with intelligent point inspection and session profiles that adapt to how you cook. With a large, easy-to-read transflective LCD and intuitive controls, you can quickly capture instant temperature readings or monitor full cooking sessions, while automatically logging data to iMonnit Software.

Create up to 99 custom food profiles for items like beef, poultry, or specialty dishes. Each profile can define minimum and maximum thresholds, target temperatures, time requirements, and alerts so you know exactly when food meets your standards.

During cooking, the probe can continuously measure or conduct point inspection of internal temperature and compare it against your configured thresholds. If conditions are met, or exceeded, you’ll see on-screen alerts and receive logged data for verification, reporting, and compliance.

Key Features to Look Forward To

  • A robust, versatile water and liquid-proof design
  • Instant temperature readings with one-button capture
  • Automated session monitoring for full cooking cycles
  • Customizable profiles for precise cooking requirements
  • Real-time alerts for thresholds, timing, and targets
  • Wireless data logging to iMonnit for compliance and records
  • Washable, replaceable probes for flexible use cases
  • Rechargeable, portable design with high-visibility LCD

The upcoming beta test will help ensure that the ALTA Food Probe 2.0 delivers reliable performance across real-world kitchen environments, from restaurants to food production facilities.

How to Automate Power with an ALTA Control Unit

Our ALTA® 10, 15, and 30 Amp Wireless Control Units sync with ALTA Wireless Sensors, an ALTA or ALTA XL® Gateway, and iMonnit to power on or off various devices, such as HVAC systems, greenhouse vents and fans, equipment, and machines.

You can automate many processes by combining the capabilities of our ALTA Control Units and Sensors.

Each ALTA Control Unit’s two relays can be automatically controlled by any wireless sensor or by a group of sensors. Simply set parameters or conditions in iMonnit using the Rules feature to automate relay switching and control the power of many processes and equipment.

This Monnit Knowledge Base article walks you through an example of configuring an ALTA Control Unit in iMonnit. You’ll learn:

  1. The steps to configure the Rules
  2. How the Rules will work

Get a glimpse of what it’s like configuring just one relay to power a fan on and off when certain conditions occur. It’s easy to see how helpful our ALTA Control Units can be when working in tandem with our ALTA Sensors.
