Monnit Receives Two Vision Awards: IoT Solutions Recognized for Facility Maintenance Innovation & Excellence

Vision awards 2019

SALT LAKE CITYOctober 1, 2019 – Rising above more than 115 entries, Monnit’s ALTA® Insure and ALTA Gas Sensors each won a Vision Award for helping facility managers protect people, places and things.

“The Vision Awards recognize tools that lower costs, enhance reliability and boost tenant satisfaction for owners and operators,” said Brad Walters, Monnit CEO. “Receiving two awards underscores Monnit’s commitment to facility maintenance with easy-to-use sensors that provide protection from boiler to boardroom.”

About the Vision Awards

Hosted by FacilitiesNet.com of the Trade Press Media Group, a leading B2B publisher, the Vision Awards program recognizes best-of-breed solutions for institutional and commercial building management. Independent facility executives selected three winners in 10 categories ranging from grounds to safety. The judges hailed from prominent organizations including the University of Notre Dame, the Under Armour Real Estate Group and Munich Reinsurance America.

"We were extremely pleased with the quality and quantity of entries we received," said Dan Hounsell, editor-in-chief at Trade Press Media. "This reinforces the fact that FM manufacturers are on the cutting edge of innovation. The product technologies that go into operating an efficient building are incredible."

FM Building Services/Tools Winner: ALTA Insure

ALTA Insure received the award because its premise simple: lose the loss.

At ALTA Insure’s core are the iMonnit software and 80+ enterprise-grade wireless sensors. This program enables managers to remotely monitor building systems or conditions via wireless sensors and a PC or smartphone. If something goes wrong, a facility manager or building staff will receive an alert via text, email, or call.

  • ROI with ALTA Insure is undeniable: One pilot installation saved a customer $500,000+ in losses from frozen pipes and water damage.
Life Safety Winner: Gas Sensors

Monnit’s three ALTA Gas Sensors were recognized for their role in preventing illness (or worse) and preempting headlines from damaging reputations. Each sensor monitors a specific air-borne threat: carbon monoxide [CO], carbon dioxide [CO2], or hydrogen sulfide [H2S].

Much of the sensors’ appeal stemmed from their simplicity and contribution to safety and efficiency.

  • Sensors range between $275–351, undercutting traditional sensors by 15–20%. For approximately $500 (one sensor and one gateway) and 15 minutes of installation, FMs can track indoor air quality.

2019 is the inaugural year for the Vision Awards. Winning products will be highlighted in a special showcase at the 2019 NFMT Orlando Conference and Expo (Nov. 13–14). Monnit is hosting booth 1121 at the show. The December 2019 issue of Building Operating Management Magazine will also feature the awards for its subscriber base of 73,000 building owners and facilities executives.
