Lifecycle Management: Turn Equipment Data into Customer Value

What if equipment could help customers anticipate maintenance and consumable needs? Monnit is helping make it happen.

We've developed a custom lifecycle management sensor for a global industrial equipment manufacturer. Bundled with and connected to their equipment, the proprietary solution helps their customers access actionable data, monitor equipment use and worker productivity, and predict maintenance needs. The launch has exceeded expectations, with customers calling it exactly what they've been looking for.

Timely Equipment Data Prompts Better Decisions

Lifecycle management helps organizations manage assets from operation and maintenance through upgrades and replacement. Combined with manufacturer specifications and recommended operating schedules, equipment-use data can help you understand performance and make informed decisions.

Connected lifecycle monitoring can help manufacturers and operators:

  • Plan maintenance proactively: Identify usage patterns and service needs before problems cause costly interruptions.
  • Improve efficiency: Understand runtime, job duration, and equipment utilization to assess workflows and production progress.
  • Anticipate consumable needs: Estimate when materials may need replenishing to plan supplies and avoid delays.
  • Protect asset value: Track performance over time to inform service, repair, and replacement decisions.

Monnit can tailor a sensor, gateway, and monitoring interface to your product and data needs. Additional lifecycle management sensors may monitor machine temperature, vibration, or environmental conditions.

Build Your Connected Solutions

Many of Monnit's 80-plus standard IoT sensors meet common needs. For specialized applications, Monnit works with customers and partners to customize sensors, gateways, accessories, and cloud software. It starts with a complimentary consultation to discuss the use case, desired data, and development plans.

Smarter CO2 Monitoring, More Environmental Insight

Our enhanced ALTA® Wireless Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Sensor now measures ambient temperature and pressure, along with instantaneous CO2 readings and 8-hour time-weighted averages (TWA). Automatic pressure compensation adjusts readings as conditions change, with no manual altitude setting required. It measures 0–10,000 ppm with 1 ppm resolution and configurable auto-calibration.

CO2 data helps you assess indoor air quality (IAQ), optimize HVAC and demand-controlled ventilation in offices and industrial facilities, monitor fermentation and greenhouse conditions, and protect workers in confined spaces.

The sensor's new ambient pressure-and-temperature sensing element automatically improves CO2 measurement accuracy. Now, in iMonnit™, you can set independent thresholds and alerts for CO2, ambient temperature, and pressure.

Wireless HVAC Monitoring: What's the ROI?

Commercial HVAC systems consume energy, require maintenance, and can cause costly disruptions when faults go unnoticed. Monnit's ROI Analysis: Wireless HVAC Monitoring in Commercial Buildings report shows how wireless sensors can support predictive maintenance.

Potential benefits include:

  • 15–30% energy savings by identifying scheduling problems, temperature drift, and ventilation inefficiencies.
  • 20–30% lower maintenance costs through early detection of dirty filters, failing motors, and airflow restrictions.
  • Longer equipment life by helping prevent overheating and damaging operating conditions.
  • Reduced risk and downtime through early warnings of water leaks and HVAC faults.

The report estimates a 3:1 to 5:1 return on investment, with typical payback in one to two years. Results vary by facility. Download the report to explore the costs, savings opportunities, and business case for smarter HVAC monitoring.

Monnit Wins Its Fourth IoT Business Impact Award

Monnit's Indoor Environmental Monitoring & Control Solution for YogaSol Hot Yoga Studio won a 2026 IoT Business Impact Award from IoT Evolution World—Monnit's fourth win in the program. The awards honor IoT deployments that solve business challenges.

With Monnit partner AIMNET Smart-Building Systems, YogaSol connected ALTA® sensors, iMonnit™ software, wireless control units, and Google Calendar to automate studio climate management. Sensors monitor temperature and humidity, schedules prepare rooms for classes and reset them between sessions, and instructors can activate fresh-air and exhaust ventilation with a button press. Staff can monitor conditions remotely and receive alerts.

The results: 60+ labor hours saved weekly and installation costs about 75% lower than alternatives AIMNET evaluated. The system maintains studio conditions while reducing manual work and operating costs—delivering measurable business value.

What iMonnit GPS Maps Can Do

Did you know you can use GPS data in iMonnit™ to track and map critical assets?

This Monnit Knowledgebase article explains how to obtain GPS location data from your ALTA® or ALTA XL® IoT Gateway. Activate or unlock your gateway's GPS tracking feature to map vehicles, fleets, equipment, supplies, and other mobile or distributed assets in iMonnit.

Dynamic GPS Mapping helps logistics teams visualize asset locations and activity across fleet management, field services, cold chain operations, and other tracking applications.

Mapping dashboards can display GPS coordinates, timestamps, altitude, location accuracy, and speed. You can also export GPS data or integrate it with other tracking and reporting systems through an application programming interface (API). Additional available data may include direction, elevation, and elevation change.

Need to organize assets by location or category? Create multiple maps using GPS data from one or more ALTA or ALTA XL IoT Gateways. Group and view data by region, city, state, delivery area, fleet, cargo, vehicle, or asset type.

Explore the benefits of iMonnit GPS Mapping:

  • Visualize activity with GPS heatmaps. Turn GPS data points into visual maps to help identify location patterns and activity.
  • Review current and historical locations. Select an IoT Gateway on the map to explore its current and past GPS data.
  • Refresh location data. Update maps and send current data points through the IoT Gateway's dedicated GPS Heartbeat.
  • Connect with other systems. Integrate GPS data into fleet management and logistics platforms using APIs.
  • Export data for reporting. Download GPS data points as CSV files for use in Microsoft Excel and other reporting workflows.

Ready to put GPS data to work? Learn how to configure and use ALTA Gateway GPS data in your IoT applications with this iMonnit GPS Knowledgebase guide.
