The State of Monnit: Building the Future of Connected Operations

Monnit Founder and CEO Brad Walters shares a company update on growth, operational AI, product innov

A Message from Founder & CEO Brad Walters

As I look across our business, our customers, and the industries we serve, one thing stands out above all else: resilience.

The world continues to navigate uncertainty. Geopolitical tensions remain in the headlines. Global supply chains continue to evolve. Economic forecasts shift from quarter to quarter. Yet despite these challenges, businesses continue to move forward, innovate, invest, and find new ways to grow.

That's certainly what we're seeing at Monnit. Whether we're speaking with partners in Europe, customers throughout Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, or organizations across North, South, and Central America, the message is remarkably consistent. Businesses are adapting. They're investing in technology. They're seeking better ways to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and make smarter decisions. Increasingly, they're turning to connected data to help them do so.

Today, I'd like to share a brief snapshot of where Monnit stands, where we're headed, and why I'm more optimistic than ever about our future.

The Rise of Operational Intelligence

It's impossible to talk about technology in 2026 without discussing artificial intelligence. AI has quickly become one of the most rapidly adopted technologies we've seen. Every industry is exploring how it can improve productivity, automate processes, and uncover new insights.

At Monnit, we're particularly interested in what I call operational artificial intelligence. Businesses have spent years collecting data and want better answers to their question: How can we turn that data into better decisions?

IoT sensors generate valuable data on temperature, humidity, vibration, power, water presence, machine performance, facility conditions, and countless other operational variables. AI is creating exciting opportunities to analyze that data faster and more effectively than ever before.

We're seeing AI adoption across our entire ecosystem. Our suppliers are exploring it. Our manufacturing partners are evaluating it. Our integrators and resellers are building new offerings around it. Our customers are investigating how it can improve their operations.

The pace of adoption is extraordinary. As a result, we're actively evaluating how Monnit can integrate practical AI capabilities into our products, software, and customer experience. Our goal isn't to chase trends. It's to identify meaningful ways AI can help customers derive more value from the operational data they're already collecting.

We believe the future belongs to organizations that can turn data into action—and we intend to help lead that transformation.

Monnit Has Never Been Stronger

When I compare where Monnit stands today to where we've been, I can honestly say our company has never been in a better position.

We're seeing growth across geographic regions and industry verticals. Adoption of our solutions continues to expand worldwide as organizations discover the value of simple, reliable remote monitoring. Some areas stand out in particular.

Data centers remain a significant growth opportunity. As AI infrastructure expands globally, operators face growing demands for uptime, environmental monitoring, energy efficiency, and equipment protection. Our solutions provide visibility into critical operating conditions that can affect performance and reliability.

Manufacturing remains a strong growth market. More organizations are deploying IoT technologies to improve productivity, reduce downtime, and support predictive maintenance.

We're also seeing continued strength across traditional Monnit markets, including:

  • Facilities management
  • Cold chain monitoring
  • Food service
  • Healthcare
  • Laboratories
  • Construction
  • Agriculture
  • Commercial real estate
  • Energy and utilities

One thing that has always set Monnit apart is our ability to support a broad range of applications. We often describe ourselves as "a mile wide and two inches thick." That flexibility remains one of our greatest strengths.

At the same time, we're making strategic investments in more specialized solutions that address specific industry needs. Customers can expect to see increasingly vertical-focused products and offerings coming to market in the months ahead.

Our Largest Product Roadmap Ever

One of the things I'm most excited about is the innovation underway at Monnit. Simply put, our product roadmap has never been larger, more ambitious, or more exciting. Our engineering teams are developing the next generation of Monnit technology across multiple fronts.

This includes advancements to our radio platform, enhancements to our gateway architecture, and the introduction of new connectivity technologies that will expand how customers deploy and manage remote monitoring solutions.

We're investing heavily in flexibility, scalability, and performance because we know our customers' needs continue to evolve.

Organizations want more connectivity options, greater deployment flexibility, and systems that are easier to manage and capable of supporting increasingly sophisticated monitoring needs. We're building toward that future.

Some of our upcoming innovations will be visible very soon, while others are longer-term investments that will help position Monnit and our customers for success well into the future.

A New User Experience Is Coming

One of the most significant initiatives is the development of a new user interface. For many customers, iMonnit is the operational center of their monitoring programs. It's where they configure sensors, manage notifications, analyze data, and make decisions.

We want that experience to be as intuitive, efficient, and powerful as possible. Our teams have been working diligently to modernize and enhance the user experience while preserving the reliability and functionality customers rely on every day.

Later this year, we'll begin rolling out these improvements through a comprehensive beta program. Customer feedback has always been critical to Monnit's product development, and this initiative will be no exception. We're excited to work closely with customers as we shape the next generation of the Monnit software experience.

Quality Remains a Top Priority

Innovation is important, but quality is non-negotiable. Last year, we launched a comprehensive quality initiative to further improve product reliability, manufacturing consistency, and customer satisfaction.

The results have been extremely encouraging. We've seen quality-related issues decline from the low double digits to the very low single digits. That's a significant improvement and a reflection of the hard work across our organization.

More importantly, customer feedback continues to validate our efforts. Our post-purchase surveys consistently highlight two themes:

  • First, customers value the reliability of our products.
  • Second, they value the quality of our customer support.

I'm particularly proud of that second point. Our technology and products matter, but our people and their work matter most.

Our commitment to exceptional service remains unchanged, and we'll continue to invest in the teams, processes, and tools necessary to support our customers worldwide.

Strengthening Our Supply Chain

Another major focus has been our supply chain resilience. Recent years have underscored for every manufacturer the importance of flexibility and preparedness. At Monnit, we've worked diligently to diversify our sourcing strategies and ensure that critical components can be obtained through multiple channels whenever possible.

Our operations teams continuously evaluate supplier relationships, inventory strategies, and sourcing alternatives to mitigate risk and ensure continuity. While no organization can eliminate every challenge, we are confident in the strength and flexibility of our supply chain strategy. That preparation helps us better serve customers and support long-term growth.

Investing in People

Technology companies often talk about products, platforms, and innovation, but successful businesses are ultimately built by people.

I’m proud of our team's growth. Monnit's headcount has grown significantly as we've expanded engineering, operations, customer support, sales, marketing, and other key functions. At the same time, we've seen positive shifts in the hiring environment, enabling us to attract talented professionals who share our commitment to innovation and customer success.

Equally important is developing the people already here. Many members of the Monnit team have been with us for years. Watching employees advance their careers, expand their expertise, and take on new leadership responsibilities is incredibly rewarding.

It's a point of pride for me. Our people are among Monnit's greatest competitive advantages, and we remain committed to creating opportunities for professional growth, learning, and advancement across the organization.

A Foundation of Responsibility

As Monnit continues to grow, maintaining trust remains essential. That trust extends beyond products and customer relationships to how we operate as a business.

We work closely with accredited CPA firms and strictly adhere to financial, regulatory, and compliance requirements. Whether it's product certifications, financial reporting, tax obligations, international trade requirements, or evolving tariff structures, we take our responsibilities seriously.

Customers, partners, and stakeholders deserve confidence that Monnit operates with integrity, accountability, and fiscal discipline. That commitment remains central to our culture and long-term strategy.

Looking Ahead

After more than 16 years of building Monnit, what excites me most isn't simply the technology. It's seeing how our customers use it to protect products, prevent downtime, improve safety, and solve problems that were difficult to address before. Every sensor deployed represents a real-world challenge being solved, and that's what continues to motivate our team. When I look toward the future, I see tremendous opportunity. I see:

  • Businesses are embracing connected technologies to improve operations.
  • AI is creating new ways to transform data into actionable intelligence.
  • Customers deploying monitoring solutions in locations and applications that were previously difficult or impossible to monitor effectively.
  • Monnit continues to innovate, grow, and help organizations operate smarter.

We're entering one of the most exciting periods in our company's history. Our markets are expanding, technology is advancing, and our customer base is growing. Our commitment to delivering reliable, easy-to-deploy monitoring solutions is stronger than ever.

To our customers, partners, distributors, and employees: Thank you. Your trust, feedback, and support continue to drive everything we do. We're excited about what lies ahead, and we're grateful to have you with us on the journey.

As always, our leadership team and I welcome your ideas, questions, and feedback. If you'd like to discuss anything with us, please reach out at Corporate@Monnit.com.

Thank you for being part of Monnit's story.
