Monnit features four Ethernet gateways in its lineup to streamline wireless IoT sensor network connectivity. The two standard ALTA® and ALTA XL® Ethernet Gateways can connect up to 100 ALTA Wireless Sensors to the Internet and our iMonnit™ Sensor Management and Alert Software without needing a PC.

Our two new ALTA and ALTA XL Ethernet Gateways 4K connect up to 4,000 (4K) ALTA Sensors, with 1,000 capable of communicating simultaneously.

• ALTA Ethernet Gateways can connect to ALTA Sensors up to 1,200+ feet away through 12+ walls.
• ALTA XL Ethernet Gateways feature a powerful wireless transceiver with up to 1-Watt transmission strength and an amplified receiver to send and receive data communications with ALTA Sensors up to 2,000+ feet through 18+ walls.

Simply provide power and plug the ALTA Ethernet Gateway or ALTA XL Ethernet Gateway into an open Ethernet port with an Internet connection. Power over Ethernet (PoE) connectivity is available. Then, the gateways will automatically connect with our secure online servers or your systems and apps, providing the perfect IoT connectivity and data solution for a wide variety of use cases and locations.

The ALTA^® IoT Gateways and ALTA XL^® IoT Gateways combine a 4G LTE CAT-M1/NB2 cellular engine and Ethernet platform (Enterprise only) with Monnit’s wireless access point network to aggregate and communicate data from Monnit ALTA^® Wireless Sensors.

A major part of the solution that won the 2024 IoT Product of the Year Award, the ALTA XL IoT Gateway also has a powerful wireless transceiver with up to 1-Watt transmission strength, an amplified receiver, and 4G LTE CAT-M1/NB2 cellular technology to backhaul ALTA Wireless Sensor data. The ALTA and ALTA XL IoT Gateways allow ALTA Wireless IoT Sensors to operate on the world’s leading cellular networks and stay connected to the Internet.

To meet the global demand for enterprise IoT deployment, the IoT Gateways communicate with the cloud-based iMonnit™ Monitoring Software via cellular transmission, making it ideal for remote locations or where the Internet isn’t available. The RJ-45 Ethernet jack (Enterprise only) allows local device configuration, diagnostics, and connectivity backup. The IoT Gateway is instrumental in sending sensor notifications via text, email, or call if user-defined conditions are met or exceeded.

International Cellular Gateways

Monnit International ALTA Cellular Gateways ensure Monnit ALTA Wireless Sensors and iMonnit Sensor Configuration and Management Software can operate on the world’s leading cellular networks. Our International ALTA Cellular Gateways and iMonnit (cloud or on-premises) aggregate sensor data and send notifications via text, email, or voice call if user-defined conditions are met or exceeded.

Based on a 2G (GSM) wireless engine, the International ALTA 2G Gateway integrates with Monnit’s wireless access point network for use with all ALTA Wireless Sensors.

The ALTA IoT Gateway showcases 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) Category M1 (CAT-M1) and NarrowBand-Internet of Things (NB-IoT) 2 (NB2) cellular technologies to keep ALTA Wireless Sensors connected to the Internet around the world.

Remote Monitoring Made Easy

No PC or Internet connection is required for setup—upon powering an ALTA 2G or IoT Gateway, they automatically connect to Monnit’s server. This simplicity makes it ideal for global use, particularly remote installs without Internet access.
