The Ins & Outs of NIST Certification with Monnit
Researchers, laboratories, pharmacists, manufacturers, restaurateurs, and more depend on precision temperature and humidity data for uncompromised product safety, quality, and performance. Monnit supports these customers by offering select Monnit Wireless Temperature, Humidity, and Low Temperature Sensors with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Traceable Certificates. As a U.S. Government agency, NIST is responsible for establishing standards and metrics used in science and technology.
The Traceable Calibration Certificate verifies that tested Monnit Wireless Sensors are traceable through NIST to the International System of Units (SI) as defined by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM). Monnit Sensors are sent to an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025-accredited lab for testing. Then our sensors receive a NIST Traceable Calibration Certification that satisfies the requirements of and complies with ISO 9000 standards.
A Traceable Calibration Certificate includes information needed to meet stringent accreditation demands, government specifications, and ISO 9000 requirements. This information includes serial number, certificate number, model number, calibration test equipment, equipment serial number, equipment calibration due date, unit accuracy, unit test conditions, test points, individual unit's calibration date, unit's next calibration due date, technician's name, and authorized signatures for certificate approval.

If you building or facility doesn't have existing Power over Ethernet (PoE) infrastructure, you will need this PoE Power Adapter.
PoE•X Sensors plug into a building’s PoE infrastructure and remotely monitor critical systems and/or infrastructure for hazards, such as water leaks. This data provides smart building operators with tremendous data to economize operation by conserving resources while enhancing comfort. If a monitored variable exceeds specified thresholds, a user is alerted via text, email, or call.
Monnit offers a variety of PoE•X sensors to fulfil your facilities needs:
Connect to the IoT with PoE
If you have a Monnit Ethernet Gateway that doesn’t support Power over Ethernet (PoE), the PoE Splitter allows you to use an existing PoE line to power and communicate with the gateway. The PoE Splitter works by simply separating the power from the data and feeding it to a different input that a non-PoE-enabled device like a gateway can use.
If your building or facility doesn’t have PoE infrastructure, you need this PoE Power Adapter to run your Monnit PoE•X Sensors. It’s easy to inject power into an Ethernet cable with our PoE Power Adapter. Deploy and power up PoE•X Sensors near or on virtually any asset that you need to give you data through a single PoE cable.

Many products, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and research samples have varying development, production, and storage needs. They all require resilient, reliable, and proactive monitoring during the cold chain. Our award-winning* ALTA® Low Temperature Sensors are a vital tool for pharmaceutical and health care professionals, food manufacturers, and distributors.
Whether keeping vaccines in an ultralow temperature (ULT) freezer throughout your cold chain, remotely monitoring logistics for frozen commodities to and from warehouses, or cadaver storage monitoring in a morgue, you can count on ALTA Low Temperature Sensors. The instant temperatures rise above your preset limits; you get a sensor alert sent via text, email, or call.
Smart building-ready ALTA Wireless enterprise-sized AA battery-powered and industrial-grade, PoE•X* Power over Ethernet (PoE), MoWi* Wi-Fi Sensors are available. All wireless and PoE sensors have a 3’ probe lead; 10’ and 25’ leads are optional. Each low-temp sensor can help you remotely monitor a range of temperatures at +/- 0.5°C calibrated accuracy from -200°C to 0°C/-328°F to 32°F. They’re perfect for ULT freezers for vaccines, some of which require temperatures to be -80°C/-112°F and below.
Low Temperature Sensors are compliant data loggers to help you meet record-keeping and chain-of-custody regulations outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Title 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 11 from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
These sensors excel in dry, low-humidity areas. Spec Monnit Thermocouple Sensors, for high-humidity, high-temperature locations.
WARNING: The Low Temperature Sensor should not be used in submersible applications. It may be used in liquid nitrogen applications without concern for sensor failure.
*Monnit won the 2022 Pandemic Tech Innovation Award and the 2022 IoT Innovator Award for the Low Temperature Sensor.
